Microsoft To Do for Windows

To choose an emoji to represent and let you easily recognize a custom-to-do list in Microsoft To Do for Windows:
- Open the list to which you want to assign an emoji.
Here’s how: Select the list in the sidebar; if you do not see the sidebar, click the hamburger menu icon to expand it.
New: This works for existing lists and when you set up a new list, too. - Click the current list title.
- Now click Add an Emoji or the current emoji preceding the title.
- Choose the emoji you want to use from the list that has appeared.

Microsoft To Do for Mac, iOS, Android and the Web
To set the emoji to represent a list in MS To Do:
- Open the list to which you want to add the emoji.
- Start editing the list title.
Here’s how: Click or tap the title. - Add the emoji you want to use for the list at the very front of the title.

Can I use emojis other than the suggested set in MS To Do for Windows?
Yes.
What emoji will MS To Do use when no custom one is set for a list?
In lieu of a custom emoji, Microsoft To Do uses a list icon for the icon representing the list.
Can I use more than one emoji in the list title?
Yes.
As the list’s icon, Microsoft To Do will only use the first emoji at the very beginning of the title (except for whitespace in front of it).
Can I set up a list that has only an emoji as its title?
Yes.
To use only an emoji for the list title in MS To Do:
- Start eating the list title (see above).
- Insert the desired emoji as the first and only character of the list title.
MS To Do for Windows: Remove the emoji set for the list first (click the emoji, the choose Clear, then use the emoji keyboard to insert it in the text portion of the title.
