How to See All Mail in Amazon Kindle Fire Email

See All Mail in Kindle Fire Email

The Kindle Email app only displays the last two days of mail? Find out here how to see all mail on Kindle Fire (in IMAP and in POP email accounts).

First, the Guts of a Washing Machine

To get even the last piece and particle of dirt out of your clothes, a washing machine not only throws and rubs clothes against each other, it importantly also throws soap at them. Inside the soap, we find what’s also in your digestive tract and in mine: enzymes.

These enzymes help break down the starches, fats, and proteins so commonly found in stains. May no molecule remain untouched.

Speaking of residues… does your Kindle Fire Email only display the last 2 days of mail? Let’s throw some metaphoric enzymes at it so it will download more—and even all messages:

In an IMAP Account Inbox

Time needed: 1 minute

To make the Email app on Kindle Fire show all email in the Inbox (instead of just two days) for an IMAP account:

  1. Tap Load more messages at the bottom for any account’s Inbox.

Be persistent: You may have to tap Load more messages more than once. Eventually, though, Kindle Fire Email will give in and start fetching all mail.

  2. Scroll to the bottom; Kindle Fire Email will continue to load older messages until the whole Inbox has been fetched.

In an IMAP Account Folder

To download more messages when Kindle Fire Email only displays the last two days of mail in a folder other than the Inbox:

  1. Tap Load all messages at the bottom.
Not in sync: If you do not see Load all messages but are certain more emails are waiting, try enabling synchronization for the folder. (Also see below.)
  2. Now tap OK under Large Data Download.

In a POP Account Inbox

To make the Kindle Fire Email app show all email in the Inbox (instead of just two days) for an IMAP account:

Will downloading more messages change the account or folder’s synchronization settings?

Yes, Kindle Fire Email will adapt the setting for the folder and remember it. You do not have to tap Load more messages again until you reset the synchronization settings.

What if “Load more messages” or “Load all messages” do not appear?

Typically, this happens if an IMAP folder is not set to synchronize at all.
