How to Unflag All Emails in iPhone Mail

First, Sticking to Its Roots

This plant is native to the European continent, and it is sticky.

Time needed: 2 minutes

To remove all flags from all emails in an account using iOS Mail on an iPhone:

  1. Open the Flagged folder under Mailboxes in iPhone Mail.

    No “Flagged”: See below for adding the Smart Folder collecting flagged emails.

  2. Tap Edit.

  3. Slide down to the left of the messages until all are selected.

  4. Tap Mark.

  5. Select Unflag from the menu that has appeared.

Add the “Flagged” Folder to iOS Mail

To access the Flagged folder in iPhone Mail:

  1. Go to the Mailboxes screen.
    Here’s how: Swipe in from the left in Mail until you reach the Mailboxes screen.
  2. Tap Edit.
  3. Check Flagged.
  4. Now tap Done.

Unflag All Emails in a Particular Folder

To remove flags only from all emails in a single folder using iPhone Mail:

  1. Go to the folder in which you want to unflag all messages.
  2. Tap the filter button in the bottom right corner.
  3. Now tap Filtered by:.
  4. Select Flagged under INCLUDE.
    Only “Flagged”: Only select Flagged to see all flagged emails.

  5. Tap Done.
  6. Now tap Edit.
  7. Use your finger to select all visible emails.
  8. Select Mark.
  9. Choose Unflag.
    Still there: Mail will keep the messages visible under ti Flagged filter for the time, but the flags have been removed.
  10. Tap the filtering button again to return to seeing all messages in the folder.
