How to Download an Email from Zoho Mail (as an EML File)

To download an email message as an EML file from Zoho Mail using a desktop browser:
- Open the message you want to download in Zoho Mail on the web.
No matter where: You can open the message in the main Zoho Mail window or in its own window.
- Click the downward-pointed arrow head (˅) in the header area.
- Select Save as | EML (.eml file) from the menu that has appeared.
Download: Your browser will either download the file to the standard download folder automatically or offer to save the file to a folder (and using a name) of your choice; do pick a file name ending in “.eml”.

Can I download multiple messages as EML files?
Yes.
Zoho Mail not only lets you download one email at a time in the EML email source format, but you can also export entire folders in as EML files from Zoho Mail.

Can I download emails as EML files in the Zoho Mail app?
No.
While the Zoho Mail apps for iOS and Android do not let you save emails as EML files locally, you can open your Zoho Mail account in a mobile browser and download EML files as above.
What can I do with EML files?
An EML file contains the full email source as plain text, just the way it is transmitted over the internet. using the SMTP (simple mail transfer protocol) standard.
You can open these files in a plain text editor to view the full message (including header, body and attachments). You can also open EML files in many email programs and services (including, with hurdles, in Gmail) or import them to transfer mail (including back into Zoho Mail, for instance).
