First, a Maths Teacher Thinks of Liquid Hydrogen

The year is 1903. The history of rocket science is centuries old and based on black powder.

Inspired by Jules Verne, Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, a high school mathematics and physics teacher in the small Russian town of Borowsk, begins to write science fiction stories of his own. True to his profession, he finds gunpowder powering rockets that fly into space untenable—and comes up with an alternative: rockets that burn liquid hydrogen mixed with oxygen should work reliably in space.

Now, with that in mind, do you want to close the book on all your tabs—or send them into space?

Can I also close all tabs in all open windows?

Yes.

To close all tabs in all open Safari browser windows (without immediately quitting Safari itself):

  • Press Command Option Shift W.
Here’s what happens: This will close all browser tabs and windows but not quit Safari.
Menu alternative: You can also select File | Close All Windows from the menu.
Quit Safari for Mac: Quitting Safari (with Command Q) will also close all windows, of course; with this command, they will automatically re-open if you start Safari again, though, if Safari is set up to do so.

An alternative is quitting Safari, of course; here, Safari will remember the open windows, though, and reopen them when you launch it again.
