On Windows with Chromium-Based Edge

Time needed: 2 minutes

To delete all cookies stored in Microsoft Edge on Windows:

  1. Click or tap Settings and more (•••) in Microsoft Edge.

    Edge keyboard shortcut: You can also press Alt F instead of clicking.

  2. Select Settings from the menu that has appeared.

  3. Go to the Privacy, search, and services category.

    View categories: Click the hamburger menu icon next to Settings to reveal Edge settings categories.
    Find the setting: You can also start typing clear browsing data over Search settings.

  4. Now tap or click Choose what to clear under Clear browsing data now.

  5. Select All time under Time range.

  6. Do check Cookies and saved website data.

    Note: You can check other options as well, of course, to clear more data—such as your browsing history, saved form data and passwords.

  7. Click Clear now.

    Clearing cookies automatically: You can also have Edge keep cookies and site data only until you quit the browser.

On Windows 10 (using classic Edge)

To delete cookies from classic (not Chromium-based) Microsoft Edge on Windows 10:

  1. Click or tap Settings and more (•••) in Microsoft Edge.
  2. Select Settings from the menu that has appeared.
  3. Go to the Privacy & security category.
  4. Now tap or click Choose what to clear under Clear browsing data.
  5. Do check Cookies and saved website data.
    Note: You can check other options as well, of course, to clear more data—such as your browsing history, saved form data and passwords.
  6. Click Clear.

Under iOS and Android

To remove cookies from the Microsoft Edge browser for iOS and Android:

  1. Tap the menu button (•••) in Microsoft Edge.
  2. Select Settings from the menu that has shown.
  3. Now tap Privacy and security.
  4. Select Clear browsing data.
  5. Choose All Time for the Time range.
  6. Make sure to check Cookies and other site data under Clear browsing data.
    Note: Of course, you can select other data for deletion as well, say form data, passwords or your browsing history.

Can I set up Microsoft Edge to clear cookies automatically?

Yes, you can set up the Edge browser to clear cookies every time you close its last open window:

  1. Click Settings and more (•••) in Microsoft Edge.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Now select Privacy, search, and services.
  4. Click Choose what to clear every time you close the browser under Clear browsing data.
  5. Make sure to enable Cookies and other site data.
    Note: For automatic clearing, you would typically not enable Passwords, Autofill form data and Site permissions; you can, of course, have your browsing history as well as Microsoft Edge’s cache cleared alongside your cookies.

Note that clearing cookies is not usually a necessary action. It can be a useful quick troubleshooting step when a website is acting up in Microsoft Edge, however.
