Looking to arrange things, words and symbols organically on your whiteboard? Want text to run vertically? Find out here how to rotate elements (including text) in MS Whiteboard.

First, a Light-Sensing TV

Are your TV’s channels changing when clouds give way to the bright midday sun? Does the volume pick up when the cat’s claws open the fridge at night?

Zenith Flash-Matic owners feel with you, I fathom. With the (first wireless) remote essentially a flashlight, the TV might react to other bright lights reaching the respective receptors. Angling the TV away from windows, lamps and fixtures probably helped, however odd it may have looked.

With that turned out of the way, let’s turn to rotating elements in MS Whiteboard so look just as good as desired:

How to Rotate Elements (and Text) in MS Whiteboard: FAQ

Can I rotate more than one element at once?

No.

You can always only rotate one element at a time in MS Whiteboard. To rotate multiple elements, do it one after the other to the best of your aligning abilities. The elements will not snap to each other’s angle.

On a desktop, you can use the ruler to measure angles and to align along.

Can I prevent an element from snapping to 45°-angle increments?

No.

To align an element close to a snapping angle in MS Whiteboard:

  1. Rotate it to 15° in either direction.
  2. Use the keyboard shortcuts to rotate by exactly 15° (see above).
