Using the Windows Emoji Panel

Time needed: 1 minute

To use the emoji panel to insert the plus/minus symbol swiftly on Windows:

  1. Position the text cursor where you want to insert the ± sign.

  2. Bring up the Windows emoji panel.

    Windows keyboard shortcut: Press Windows . (period), for example, to bring up the panel.

  3. Go to the %⟳△+ tab.

  4. Click General punctuation.

    Minus or plus: For the minus or plus sign (∓), select Math symbols instead.

  5. Scroll to locate and tap or click the ± symbol.

    Minus or plus: Find and select the ∓ sign under Math symbols to insert it.
