Time needed: 3 minutes

To find files you downloaded using the Silk Browser for Amazon Kindle Fire devices (such as tablets):

  1. Open the Silk Browser app.

  2. Tap the hamburger menu button.

  3. Select Downloads from the menu that has appeared.

  4. Go to the MY FILES tab.

  5. Find all downloaded files listed.

    By file type: You can filter the list by file type: tap Downloads followed by the desired type.
    Search: Tap the search magnifying glass (🔍) to search for a file by name.

  6. Tap a file’s name to open the document.

Delete a Downloaded File on Kindle Fire

To delete a download from Silk Browser (and the Kindle Fire device):

  1. Tap the menu button (Gmail More toolbar button) next to the file you want to remove.
    Tip: For images, tap and hold the preview.
    Note: Tapping and holding lets you select and delete multiple files in one go.
  2. Select Delete from the context menu that has appeared.
    Tip: With an image or multiple files selected, tap the deletion trashcan icon in the top toolbar.
    Note: The file will be deleted immediately.
    Undo: For a few seconds, you can undelete the removed download to restore it: tap Undo at the bottom.

Find and Manage Downloads using the Kindle Fire File Manager

To find downloads from Silk Browser directly in Kindle Fire file manager and manage them in bulk:

  1. Open the Docs app on the Kindle Fire device.
  2. Tap the hamburger menu icon (Mozilla Thunderbird hamburger menu button).
    Note: If you cannot see the menu, tap the back button (←) until the menu icon appears.
  3. Select Download under Local Storage in the menu that has appeared.
  4. Find downloaded files listed.
    Tip: Use the selection button (Kindle Fire Selection Icon) to act on—say, delete—multiple files in bulk.
